Terms of Use

By creating an account on Mehgan, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account.

These terms apply to all members of the platform regardless of how they access it.

Mehgan is an invite-only platform. Access requires a valid personal invitation link. By accepting an invitation, you represent that:

• You are the person the invitation was issued to
• You have genuine expertise, professional experience, or active engagement in the circle for which you were invited
• You are not acting on behalf of a government agency, state intelligence service, or any entity engaged in surveillance of the Iranian diaspora community

We reserve the right to revoke access at any time if membership eligibility is misrepresented.

You agree to use Mehgan in good faith. Specifically, you agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information in surveys or your profile
• Attempt to identify other members who have chosen to participate anonymously or under a pseudonym
• Use the platform to harass, surveil, or gather intelligence on other members
• Share your invitation link, account credentials, or platform content with unauthorized parties
• Attempt to access data or areas of the platform beyond your authorization

When you submit a survey response, you grant Mehgan a perpetual, irrevocable license to use that response — without personal attribution — as part of its research outputs, reports, and platform analytics.

Survey responses are retained after account deletion. If you delete your account or leave the platform, your survey responses remain in Mehgan's research database. They will no longer be attributed to you personally, but the substantive content of your answers will be retained. This is necessary to preserve the integrity of the collective research record.

By submitting a survey response, you acknowledge and consent to this retention policy.

Mehgan provides a mechanism for members to submit expert quotes for publication on the platform and in external research outputs.

Published quotes are permanent and cannot be retracted. Once a quote is approved by a Mehgan administrator and published, it becomes part of the public record. We do not remove published quotes upon request, including after account deletion.

Specifically:

• If you submitted a quote under your real name or display name, that attribution is permanent
• If you submitted a quote anonymously, it will remain published without attribution — but the quote text itself will not be removed
• Deleting your account does not remove previously published quotes

You confirm at the time of submission that you have the right to make the statement, that it accurately represents your views, and that you consent to its permanent publication.

Survey responses and quotes you submit remain yours. By submitting them, you grant Mehgan a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, publish, and distribute them (with or without attribution, depending on your anonymity choice) in connection with Mehgan's research and policy outputs.

All other platform content — design, software, compilations, aggregated research — is owned by Mehgan.

Mehgan is provided “as is.” We make no guarantees about uptime, data accuracy, or the suitability of information on the platform for any particular purpose. We are not responsible for decisions made based on platform content.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may also request account deletion at any time. Upon termination:

• Your profile and authentication credentials are deleted
• Your survey responses are retained without attribution
• Your published quotes remain published

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify active members of material changes.
